The teachers at the WBMG have studied with many different advanced level teachers– some of whom come to the Boston area. In general, the high season for visiting teachers is May through October. Weekend programs and retreats are a way to deepen your meditation practice. Many retreats combine intensive meditation practice with talks by an advanced teacher. Sometimes retreats fill up quickly so it is good to explore options early.

Her Eminence Khandro Rinpoche usually visits the Boston area every other year. There is also a local study group.
Anam Thubten Rinpoche often visits the East Coast. He usually leads a weekend program in the Boston area in August, and a residential retreat in Maine in October.
Natural Dharma Fellowship meets at Cambridge Friends Meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. The lead teachers, Lama Willa Miller and Lama Liz Monson, teach and live locally in Cambridge MA and Springfield NH.

Westchester Buddhist Center holds an annual residential retreat in Garrison NY in the winter, at the Garrison Institute.
